Since the days when the Maxwell Street Market was still on Maxwell, Eppel's Restaurant has been a place for breakfast lovers to find a second home. Come twice and you might be surprised how many familiar faces are sitting in the comfortable booths trying to decide which of their favorites to enjoy. Talk to the people in the booths next to you and you will hear stories of how they had come as a child and had only recently rediscovered that this gem on Roosevelt remains.
For our neighbors in the South Loop and Dearborn Park we are just across the river on the number 12 or 18 bus, across the street from Best Buy in the heart of the revitalized Roosevelt Street shopping district between Canal and the new Desplaines Street home of the Maxwell Street Market. And for those coming in from farther a field we are just blocks from the Dan Ryan.
So whether you are in the mood for ham-off-the bone, a mountain of creamy pancakes, or our catfish come home to Eppel's and you will leave smiling.
